If you’ve lost your faith in people, perhaps it is due to those you surround yourself with. I once believed that human beings had cruel hearts with a few good intentions thrown in. But this conclusion was based solely on the kind of people I had included in my life for as long as I can remember. We base our view of others off of what we have been taught to believe. If we spend our time with those who mirror selfish qualities or apathetic characteristics, we are only teaching ourselves to expect this in everyone. If you view the world through critical eyes, remember that there is so much better out there. You deserve people who care about you and bring out the light in you. You deserve the ones who challenge you to think, instead of feeding you negativity. The right types are out there. Oftentimes, they are waiting just outside your door.
